Reinstalling or Resetting Your Server OS

Sometimes the easiest fix for a misconfigured or compromised server is a clean reinstall. SimplisticNode makes it easy to reinstall the operating system from your Client Dashboard.

How to Reinstall

Step 1: Back Up Your Data

A reinstall will erase everything on the server. Download any files, databases, and configurations you want to keep before proceeding.

Step 2: Navigate to Your Service

Log in to your SimplisticNode Client Dashboard and open the management page for your VPS or Dedicated Server.

Step 3: Select Reinstall

Find the Reinstall or Reset option. You will be asked to choose an operating system from the available templates.

Step 4: Confirm and Wait

Confirm the reinstall. The process typically takes a few minutes. You will receive new root credentials (or be asked to set a password) once the reinstall is complete.

Step 5: Reconfigure

After the reinstall, follow the initial setup steps from the "Getting Started" article above: change the root password, update the system, set up a firewall, and create a non-root user.

Critical:  Reinstalling your OS permanently deletes all data on the server. There is no way to recover it after the process begins. Always verify your backups before proceeding.
