Congratulations on your new game server! SimplisticNode uses the Pterodactyl panel to give you full control over your server. This guide will walk you through the initial setup process so you can get online quickly.
Accessing the Pterodactyl Panel
Step 1: Check Your Email
After your order is processed, you will receive an email containing your Pterodactyl panel login credentials and a link to the panel. If this is your first game server with us, you may be asked to set your panel password using a link in the email.
Step 2: Log In to the Panel
Open the Pterodactyl panel URL provided in your email and log in with your credentials. You will be taken to your server list, where your new server should be visible.
Step 3: Select Your Server
Click on your server to open its management page. From here, you have access to the console, file manager, settings, and more.
Starting Your Server for the First Time
On your server’s main page in Pterodactyl, you will see a console window and a set of power controls. Click the Start button to boot your server for the first time. The console will display startup logs so you can monitor the process. Depending on the game, the first start may take a little longer as the server generates default configuration files and world data.
Once the console shows that the server is ready and listening for connections, you can connect using your game client. Your server’s IP address and port are displayed on the server page in the panel.
Tip: Make a note of your server’s IP address and port. You will need these to connect from your game client and to share with your players.
Initial Configuration
Most game servers generate a default configuration file on first start. You will likely want to customise settings such as the server name, player slots, game mode, and passwords. You can edit these files directly from the File Manager tab in the Pterodactyl panel, or via SFTP. Refer to the game-specific guides in our knowledge base for detailed configuration instructions.
