An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between your website and its visitors, enabling HTTPS. This is essential for security, user trust, and search engine rankings.
Free SSL with Let’s Encrypt
Both cPanel and DirectAdmin support free SSL certificates through Let’s Encrypt. These certificates are automatically issued and renewed, making them the easiest option for most websites.
In cPanel
Navigate to the SSL/TLS Status section in cPanel. You will see a list of your domains. Select the domains you want to secure and click Run AutoSSL. cPanel will automatically issue and install Let’s Encrypt certificates for the selected domains. Certificates are renewed automatically before they expire.
In DirectAdmin
Go to SSL Certificates under your domain settings. Select the option to use a free Let’s Encrypt certificate, choose the domains and subdomains to include, and click Save. DirectAdmin handles issuance and renewal automatically.
Using a Purchased SSL Certificate
If you have purchased an SSL certificate from a third-party provider, you can install it manually through your control panel. In cPanel, go to SSL/TLS and select Install and Manage SSL. In DirectAdmin, go to SSL Certificates and paste your certificate, private key, and CA bundle. Contact support if you need help with this process.
Note: Your domain must be pointing to your SimplisticNode hosting before an SSL certificate can be issued. Let’s Encrypt validates domain ownership by connecting to your server.
